This is the bit you will probably be most interested in! How do we take your initial ideas and bring them alive? If you are local to us, we prefer to meet up with you to get a feel for your business and how you want to market it on the web. However, we have some customers we have never met face-to-face, and through the miracle of the telephone and email, we can successfully get to know you.

This discovery phase will give us enough information to create one or two alternative designs for you to consider. From this point, it is an iterative process until you are happy with the design. In other words, we will tweak our proposed designs until you are happy. Once we are at this stage, we can begin building the website, but will need you to supply the content for the pages. For an ecommerce or content-managed system, we will have to complete the programming before you can begin to upload your products or content. As we approach completion, we will make your website available to you in test mode, so you can review it and be sure you are happy with it before it goes live.

Website redesign

This process is not that different to starting from scratch. Some customers want to completely throw away what they currently have. Others want to keep the majority of their content, but have us rework the look and feel, and make other changes to optimise the site better for search engines. It all goes into the redesign melting pot.

Domains

Domains registered and renewed on your behalf. We manage the domain name purchase and renewals of all our customers, currently managing over 200 domains. When we say we do this on your behalf, it means that when we buy domain names for you, they are set up in your name, or the name of your business, never in our name. That way, you are the legal owner from day one. By managing your domains for you, we are able to keep them configured the way we need for hosting on our servers. It also means we can change the configuration as necessary (e.g. if we need to move the hosting of your website or email from one server to another) without troubling you.

Corporate branding

This is a grand term that big companies use a lot, but the principles apply equally to small and medium-sized companies. All it means is that when your business produces any document, be it a letterhead, brochure, or electronic web page, it is instantly recognised as belonging to your business. This is achieved through your logo (if you have one - if not we can use our own graphic artist to design you one), and the way you use colours, fonts and layout. Designing for the web and paper are two completely different specialisms, and although e-Limelight specialises in website design, we will work with your existing print designer if you have one, or we can put you in touch with print designers we already know and have worked with.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

A great benefit of having e-Limelight develop or redevelop your website is that we apply our SEO skills throughout the development. We will learn from you what kind of words and phrases you believe your potential customers will use when looking for the products or services you offer, and will research and propose additional and alternative phrases. We will review competitor websites that are well-placed in the search engines, and use this knowledge in developing your own website. We are pro-active in reviewing your proposed content and feeding back how it might be tweaked or re-arranged to gain better traction in the search engines.
